Description

Laura graduated from the University of Guelph in 1980 with a B.Sc. in Wildlife Biology and Management. She has worked as a research biologist with the Canadian Wildlife Service, as a Naturalist/Interpreter with several Ottawa and Toronto Conservation Authorities,also training as a Volunteer Guide at the Metro Toronto Zoo.

A self-taught artist, Laura works mostly in watercolours, and has been painting professionally for over 25 years. She has become well known for her sensitive portraits of our native wildlife, especially the birds. Her originals and prints are owned by private and corporate collectors in many countries such as England, Australia, Germany, Russia, Zambia, Switzerland, and the United States. Her prints have been presented by the Canadian Government to the presidents of Zambia and the Russian Federation, Kenneth Kuanda and Boris Yeltsin.
